I have NO IDEA what’s going on this Friday because I’m tired. This blogger is meeting the girls for a decompression dinner in Shirlington and calling it a wrap. Yes I looked for someplace interesting in Prince George’s County but came up with nothing I was willing to try on such an empty stomach. I’ll do better this weekend. WHO ARE YOU TO JUDGE ME! *giggle*
Saturday September 8th
Prince George’s County Fair: I’ve never been. May drop by with my camera. Sounds kitschy. They actually have a beautiful baby contest. Yeeeesh! The Fair opened on Thursday and is going on now through Sunday. Tonight until 11pm. Saturday, from 9am to 11pm; Sunday 9am to 6pm. There will be pig races, a chainsaw artist, all day merry-go-round, dairy and meat goat show, Southern Mix Chorus, Okinawan Taiko Drumming, PGCo Police Bagpipe band, a horse pull, boot scooters and too much more to type. Prince George’s Community College Community Shred: Dispose of personal papers and guard against identity theft at the NBC4 Safe & Secure Community Shred event, September 8, 8-11 a.m., on Prince George’s Community College’s Largo campus.
Joe’s Movement Emporium: LillyVonn dance concert, the troupe puts on a concert to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Cocktail reception, 6 p.m.; concert, 7 p.m., Joe’s Movement Emporium, 3309 Bunker Hill Rd., Mount Rainier. $40. 301-699-1819.
OUT-SIDESHOW Flea Market: This event touts itself as a SUPA-DUPA Flea Market for ya. Held in the Federal Hill area of Baltimore, The American Visionary Art Museum is located at the base of historic Federal Hill, adjacent to downtown Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, 9am to 3pm. The sidewalks around AVAM will be packed once again with almost 100 vendors selling original art, books, toys, antiques, vintage clothing, collectables, and more! It’s always a ton of fun for the whole family. Admission to the flea market is FREE! The cost for Vendors is only $15 (money goes to close off Covington Street for the duration of the flea market). Helpin’ Others Custom and Classic Car Show: Held at the Bowie Baysox Staduim, 4101 Crain Highway, 1oam to 3pm, costs $5. Sponsore by Sandra Holland in honor of her late husband Francis “Frankie” Holland, a veteran who passed away in 2010 from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.
