Mass Shooting in PGCo Averted
Former Pitney Bowes employee’s guns seized; threatened to “blow everybody up.”
Right on the heels of the Aurora, Colorado mass shooting tragedy, resident nut-case Neil Prescott of Crofton, Maryland, had his 25 semi-automatic weapons and thousands of rounds of ammunition seized after threatening the life of his boss at the Pitney Bowes Capitol Heights location. Neil Prescott had been fired. Search warrant documents state that Prescott made statements such as “It’s kind of foolish of me to say things over government phone.” Prescott made this statement multiple times on multiple calls: “I am a joker. I’m going to load up my guns and blow everybody up.” Prescott also expressed a desire to see his boss’s brain “splatter all over the sidewalk.”
ABC News reports that Prescott was wearing a T-Shirt that said: “Guns don’t kill people. I do,” when authorities took him into custody. For the record, he hasn’t been charged with anything yet. Yet.
Guns seized from Neil Prescott
I”ve read some comments from gun proponents who think the police jumped the gun, no pun intended. I believe in the right to bear arms but I think the police were proactive and did the right thing. Weigh in. Read the search warrant for yourself.
Law enforcement officials told news sources that they believe they averted a shooting that could have been akin to the Aurora, CO incident.
